What I’m reading…
“Let’s be reasonable and add an eighth day to the week that is devoted exclusively to reading.”
I’ve always loved a good story. Ever since I can remember stories have been my solace and my escape, transporting me to other worlds. Sometimes it hard to put them down and return to the present. That is the power of a good story and the magic woven by storyteller.
At the moment my ‘to be read’ pile is so high I’m in danger of being buried alive if it topples from my bedside table.
The Power of the Wouivre
by Emma Hine
Set between medieval Tuscany and modern day Cornwall this time travelling adventure follows Guidaloste and Thomas as they find themselves bound by the mysterious power of the Wouivre.
This is Emma’s debut novel and I’m really enjoying it. This is a young adult historical fantasy with a coming of age theme and the discovery of a hidden power. It gives me Inkheart vibes which I love. This is a great read for escapism and the medieval world feels very real.
